User-friendly Desktop Internet GIS (uDig)is an open source spatial data viewer/editor, with special emphasis on the OpenGIS standards for internet GIS, the Web Map Server and Web Feature Server standards.

This release is the result of an amazing week long code sprint held at Hydrologis in Italy supplimented by developers all over the world. A special thanks to the participating organizations: Axios, Camptocamp>, Fraunhofer IAIS>, HydroloGIS and LISAsoft.
The uDig 1.2 series has focused on raster support using Java Advanced Imaging and ImageIO libraries and added support for web tile servers.
